From hands-on learning to social gatherings, our events help members build skills, expand their networks, and gain confidence in the maritime industry. Whether you’re touring a marine facility, or practicing your aim, WIMOs events are designed to support career growth while fostering a welcoming community.
Annual Fundraising Events
Our annual signature fundraising events provide both fun and professional development in supportive environments. These events are open to everyone, there is no need to be a WIMOs member. We welcome all women and men who would like to help us fundraise and support Women In Maritime Operations.
- Golf Tournament: Learn golf etiquette, practice your swing, and network while enjoying a day on the green.
- Clay Shoot: Sharpen your focus, build confidence, and connect with industry peers during this sporting challenge.
- Karaoke Night: A relaxed, social environment where members and supporters come together to celebrate and sing.
- She Moves the River Fundraiser: Middle Tennessee’s annual fundraising event.
These events give members the chance to build skills in real-world scenarios while fostering relationships that strengthen the maritime community. Prior to these events, WIMOs provides golf lessons and shotgun shooting lessons to help build confidence in these skills
Educational and Social Events
WIMOs hosts over 150 educational, networking, and social events each year. All events are included or discounted with membership. Examples include:
- Lunch & learns and in-person educational training sessions
- Maritime industry expert webinars and leadership development workshops
- Operational tours at maritime companies, providing behind-the-scenes insights
- Networking socials, philanthropic activities, and industry meet-ups
These experiences are designed to help women grow their skills, expand their professional networks, and gain confidence in leadership and operational roles.
